Meg personal trainingI started my personal training journey working with Dennis over seven years ago (we started in 2008). I just had two surgeries, one affecting my abdomen and one on an ankle. I had the upper body strength of Olive Oyl. I was constantly tired, moderately overweight and had zero endurance. My friends constantly left me behind hiking and came back to get me. During our seven years (yikes!) together,  I also ran my motor scooter off the Poudre Canyon and had to recover from multiple wrist fractures for about 4 months. The journey has not been without bumps in the road.

Today I am a different woman – hear me roar! I can hike with the best of them. I sleep like a baby. I am about one and ½ sizes smaller, soon to be two sizes smaller. I have actually had people comment on my arm muscles and upper body strength. I walk or bike to work and walk most places I need to go. In short, life is good and I am more fit that I have been in about 25 years.

Working with Dennis is not the quick, easy way – but then again have those ever worked out in the long run? It is week after week of changing routines, pushing a little harder and not giving up. And it works. You will gain muscle mass, protect your bones, have fun and lose some weight. But most of all, life will be better. You will stop dropping things out of your life and begin adding them into your life, no matter how old or young you are. Dennis will offer you the tools you need and keep you going. And all you have to do is KEEP GOING!

Jo strength trainingI decided I needed to try something different in order to lose weight. I walked or biked every day and ate as well as I could but I kept gaining weight. I knew strength training was important for good health and weight management, but I didn’t really know what I was doing when I tried to use a book to guide me. I didn’t want to join a fitness center, so I’m glad I found Dennis Blair of Core Fitness and Nutrition.

Through three different sets of strength-training routines done twice a week I have lost more than 13 pounds and traded fat into muscle, as evidenced by my being able to wear clothes I had outgrown and lift much heavier weights than I could three months previously. I never knew what I was doing before; now Dennis demonstrates each exercise and tells me which adjustments to make while I do them. I don’t have to worry about whether I’m increasing the weight or changing the routine fast enough because it’s not my job. I would never lift weights on my own for fun, but with Dennis to advise and laugh with me as I work harder than I ever imagined I could I feel myself increasing in strength almost daily. I highly recommend Dennis for anyone wanting to learn how to become strong, fit, and healthy.

brooke personal trainerWhen I decided to work with a personal trainer, my goal was to simply feel better physically and emotionally. I was hesitant to get involved with a trainer again as I have had some bad experiences in the past and developed bad habits due to unreasonable expectations for my body type. I was so tired of paying money to feel unnecessarily worn down and only seeing results through starvation and living at the gym. When I met with Dennis, I was pleasantly surprised. He was not the average trainer, in a good way! He did not start off measuring my body fat or weighing me. The expectations he had for our time together were much more reasonable than my own expectations. I was relieved at how much better I felt after just one meeting with him. I did not feel pressured or like I had to make huge unreasonable changes in my life. I even had fun! Instead of dreading the gym, I began to look forward to my appointments! I saw the results that I wanted – I felt better physically and emotionally. As a result, my clothes were looser as well, which was a great surprise!

Omnia weight lossI used to be under the impression that hiring a Fort Collins personal trainer was going to be too hard and that I would have to follow a gruesome routine to be fit. Having Mr. Dennis Blair as my personal trainer changed my opinion! I was only able to train with Dennis for a short amount of time because of work limitations. cameron personal fitness trainerAlthough I’ve never had a personal fitness trainer before, I have been around them at various gyms and I have to say Dennis is the best. He’s personable, fun to workout with, energetic and motivating.

When we initially met, we determined my goals then set-out to accomplish them. I am a mountain biker. But I haven’t ridden in quite a while. I came to Dennis looking for a general fitness workout.

After just a few months working with Dennis, I am able to climb the hills in Horsetooth Mountain Park, Bobcat Ridge and Devil’s Backbone like I never stopped biking.

I also like the fact that Dennis provides me with exercises that mimic everyday activities. For example, we do exercises with medicine balls and balance balls that help me with balance on my bike. It’s more of a total body workout which has helped me tremendously.

Ava lose weight fastLast year I decided to change my lifestyle in a big way – to lose a great deal of weight, and to become fit. I totally changed my diet, and in February, began walking four days a week. I knew that I needed someone more knowledgeable than me to design my fitness program.I looked for a personal trainer who would support my three goals: lose weight fast, build muscle, and strengthen, tone, and firm my body. I also wanted someone who was committed to my strong commitment. I knew that I was highly motivated and did not feel a need to work out with a trainer every week. I would do my three weight training and four cardio sessions a week on my own without needing someone to prod me.

But I did need expertise. I needed someone to design that first program, and then to change it up every month or so as I became stronger and more fit. That’s where Dennis came in.

The workouts he designs are challenging, fun, and most important, deliver results. I’m stronger, more fit, have a higher energy level, and am even more focused than when we began working together a few months ago. With each program, he shows me the how to do the routine for one session and then off I go. Dennis is knowledgeable, fun and an expert as what he does.

I am grateful I found him, and have him to guide me in my body transformation. And I’m getting great results – which for me, is really what it’s all about.

Laura workout sessionsI just recently turned 49, and honestly I have never been in better shape thanks to Dennis. In my “earlier” years, I was an exercise freak — someone who was an avid runner, swam on the high-school swim team, lifted weights, did aerobics, etc. The personalized workout sessions I get with Dennis and his Core Fitness trainers have enabled me to comfortably complete the MS150 bike ride (150 miles in 2 days), regularly finish 60-70 “old-fashioned” push ups without a problem, lost fat and REALLY feel good about myself! My endurance is greater, I’m sleeping better and I have awesome muscles (not like a bodybuilder — thank goodness — but my arms and back look great in a summer dress!). I’ve learned it’s all possible without having to be in a gym and lifting boring weights over and over. Our fitness workouts are in a Fort Collins park, which is invigorating.
